Anise Oil 1/2 fl oz
Don't be alarmed if your Anise Oil has crystallized or congealed. If the Anise oil has crystallized, warm until it is liquefied and shake. The crystallization or congealing of Anise is a criterion of value. In other words, if crystallization takes place at 15'C it is your assurance of good quality Anise.
Anise has long been known for its aid in digestion, which is why the Romans ended their elaborate feasts with anise cakes. With its sweet licorice taste, anise is featured heavily in cakes, cookies and liquors. In small amounts, anise makes a nice addition to sausage or in tomato sauce. The whole, star shaped spice has a strong licorice flavor and aroma, use star anise pieces in a pot of stew or in pickling blends. Also nice for craft projects.
