Rosemary

Grown in Mediterranean areas, rosemary is the needle-like leaves of a shrub belonging to the mint family.  It is excellent with all types of meat and fish dishes. Rosemary has a history of being associated with remembrance.  Greek students in ancient times would wear rosemary wreaths during exams.  Bridesmaids would present the bridegroom with a ribboned bunch of rosemary on the morning of his wedding so he would remember to be faithful. Rosemary blends well in tomato sauces, soups or stews.  Use 1/4 teaspoon per cup of spaghetti sauce.

Rosemary is said to relieve indigestion and flatulence.
